Why alcohol -free drinks attract consumers so much?

Alcohol without alcohol, a trend that is not so recent!

Beer, wines, spirits ... Today, the alcohol market is a trend that emerges more and more But in reality, alcohol -free drinks have existed for longer than we could think. And indeed, if we can speak of a precursor in alcohol -free wine, the first to have practiced the concealment technique is German Carl Jung in 1908. The latter, famous Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, had a relationship complex with alcohol and drugs. Although he himself consumed alcohol at different times in his life, he was also aware of the dangers of alcohol abuse and often encouraged his patients to abstain or limit their consumption. He also explained in his book "Psychology and Alchemy", the dangers of alcohol abuse and encouraged the search for alternative forms of pleasure and personal accomplishment.

On the alcohol -free beer side, the first production dates from 1970, so here too, we have a concept that is not new today. These are 2 French people, the "Gayant brewers" who launched their first brand of alcohol -free beer: Celta! We can also quote the famous French company Pernod Ricard specializing in the production of pastis, which in 1982 launched the "Pacific", an alcohol -free aniseed.

But the fact is that for many of these innovations, it was not until a much more recent era to see a real good in terms of qualities which allowed these products to become choices "pleasures" and no longer only functional

But by the way, how do we make an alcohol -free wine?

To start, some alcohol -free drinks similar to wine are only based on reworked grape juice to create a new drink. While others are real alcohol wines from fermented and vinified grape varieties. The latter are therefore disalcolized and open the doors to a new valuation of a Wine know-how. (Thus, they are decisalized and make it possible to expand the family of wine).

Disalcoolization

To obtain a muscoolized wine, we add a step at the end of manufacture which preserves the original aromas while creating a new style of wines both reduced in alcohol and calories! There are two major techniques to achieve this, the first is called reverse osmosis, a principle used at the start to quench water and which allows the rest of the rest of the wine by passing it through very micro-membranes fine. The other comes from the principle of distillation at low temperature so as not to shake up the aromas and the original structure too much! This is the method we have chosen at moderato (our oenologist tells you about it better than us bond Frédéric). Thanks to these different quenchoolization techniques, it is possible to create any style of wine: red, white, rosés, sparkling.

Consuming more reasonably by keeping the pleasure of good things is possible that?

One thing is certain, the lifestyles evolve and we are looking more and more, whatever the generations, to consume more reasonedly Keeping the pleasure of good things... So if non -alcoholic drinks are today a new consumption trend, it is either out of necessity for some, or by personal choice to adopt a more responsible approach and for health in general. Moderato simply wish give back while being a little more responsible for oneself ! For that, just go back to the fundamental bases that make the pleasure of a good glass of wine: sharing, relaxation and of course the taste.

What if we talked about numbers?

There wine consumption is in decrease In many countries, especially in Europe and North America, although it continues to grow in certain emerging countries such as China.

There are several reasons for this trend. First of all, the growing awareness of alcohol -related health problems has prompted many consumers to reduce their overall alcohol consumption, including wine. In addition, awareness campaigns on the effects of driving and road safety have also helped reduce the consumption of wine and other alcoholic drinks.

In addition, there is also an increasing trend in favor of a healthier lifestyle and a balanced diet, which leads many consumers to favor non -alcoholic or low alcohol drinks for different moments of consumption .

Alcohol has always had this ambivalence, both produced anchor in many cultures but whose abuse is a real problem. In recent times, consumers of all ages have taken more and more the fold of consuming "less but better". 25% of less than 25 in several European countries consume very little or no alcohol.

The consumption of wine in France is in free fall for over 50 years and the young generations are turning less and less towards classic wines.

Sign of awareness? No doubt, because the degree of wines has tended to increase in recent decades. For example in Languedoc, in 40 years, wines have taken 2% alcohol, a gap that clearly has an impact!

The temptation at least of alcohol is great! Since 46% of wine lovers say they are interested in lower alcohol or alcohol drinks, a real cultural change!

Our primary will in moderato is none other than the Consumer pleasure. We want to keep this pleasure during Sharing moments But with a good glass of alcohol -free, less caloric And so better for yourself.
